For Luca Damiani, as with several of his teammates on the Colavita/Sutter Home Men’s Cycling Team presented by Cooking Light, cycling is the family business. Inspired to race by his father Maurizio Damiani, a former Italian cyclist and coach, Luca comes to road racing from cyclo-cross where he competed successfully on the Italian National Team for four years and in four world championships, two European championships, and multiple World Cup events. Luca holds a degree in thermal energy from IPSIA Romegialli, Morbegno, his hometown’s professional institute and when he’s not ripping up cyclo-cross circuits can be found coaching children in the Italian Federation cycling school.
